camera Canon EOS 1Dx

While Andrew began shooting professionally in 2007, his interest in the craft began far earlier than that, shooting and developing black and white film on a hand-me-down SLR in high school. He has traveled to Europe, Asia, and many parts of the US to photograph his passions from automotive, racing, events, concerts, landscapes, portraiture and more. His work has been featured in internationally syndicated magazines, numerous online media outlets, in person with a RAW Artists showcase event, and even by white collar professionals and recording artists.

How did you get started with photography

Like a lot of people I was handed a camera when I was a little kid. I think I was 4 or 5 when my Mom gave me a little 110 camera. Each week she'd give me one roll of film, and I could shoot whatever caught my fancy. Then, each week we'd roll up to the Fotomat in the mall parking lot, drop off the film and a few days later we'd return to see the results! I've been hooked ever since, and eventually learned about photography, the history of it, the how-to's and moved on from there.

What do you love about your job?

I love the trust that people have in me. They invite me into their lives (even if it's just briefly) to help them craft and capture a moment in time, usually a very special & important moment. And that kind of trust is something I never take for granted.

What are some of your favorite places in Nashville to take photographs?

Nashville is such a photogenic city! Downtown is a great place to shoot. The river, the bridges, the city streets, they all offer great spaces for photo opportunities. I also love to shoot in the many parks we have, Centennial, Percy Warner, Radnor Lake, and others.
