How did you get started with photography

I started innocently enough with a point-and-shoot camera. A friend of mine was a makeup artist working with the New York Fashion Week community and saw some of my work. She suggested I take it seriously because I had an eye for capturing the "truth of people" as she put it. I took her advice and purchased my first DSLR which only expanded my understanding of people, light, and freezing important moments forever.

What do you love about your job?

I love people. Period. Everything about photography is about watching, understanding, and translating people. There are few things in the world as amazing as seeing someone's eyes widen as they view themselves, through your eyes, and fall in love with what they see.

What are some of your favorite places in Phoenix to take photographs?

Here in Phoenix, there are quite a few really cinematic locations. It is the 6th largest city that is designed to be an urban sprawl. This means that it isn't difficult to find a really attractive street, road or area with no one around to get in the way. Add to this the year-round lack of cold and it makes for a photographer's paradise. Golden hour in the valley is second to none.
