camera Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

To say that I love and enjoy photography and I am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals is an understatement . To me photography is not a job it's a rite of passage where i can capture a precious moment of this borrowed time and leave my clients with memories to be cherished for generations to come. I grew up in Haiti where technology was not at our fingertips , I would spend hours going thru old albums discovering so much history thru these constant images. With these memories embedded in me took bold leap of faith and purchased a canon 5D mark IV as a beginner in photography . I was so eager to learn that i sought out courses and photographer who were willing to mentor me. I had so many rejections and so many challenges trying to learn a more advance model but i refuse to take no for an answer and i refuse to quit . Eventually the right people came along and the right courses . I also offered a lot of free shoots to do a lot of hands on learning . I am still taking course still improving I believe that learning any skill in life is a lifetime achievement . One can always get better even at a craft they feel like they have already mastered that keep anyone from reaching a plateau especially with something i cherish so much.

camera Canon EOS 60D

Elizabeth’s journey with photography started at a young age with nature and portrait photography of her friends, but grew throughout time to a more advanced set of portraiture, documentary event work, and colorful still life and product photography. Being mostly self-taught for the first portion of her career, she worked creating portraits for a dynamic range of clients in the greater San Antonio area. A few years later, Elizabeth trained under a wedding photographer and added a unique style of wedding and event photography to her repertoire. From summer 2015 to fall of 2018, she attended the Art Institute of San Antonio were she was trained in almost all aspects of modern, commercial photography. Elizabeth studied portraiture in studio and environment, food photography, weddings, events, architecture, documentary, and so many more genres within the photographic medium. Throughout all her years dedicated to photography, the most important thing she learned is how to use her art and the skills learned, to satisfy the client with images that they will cherish forever, because at the end of the day, the most important thing is that the art was created with passion and purpose.

camera Nikon D610, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4

Honestly, my passion for photography started out of necessity. As any Graphic Designer out there, I always need original artwork, specially photos. At first I thought it was easy, just point and shoot, but once you get involve in cameras, lenses, subjects and lights, the need for knowledge needs to be tame. So while working on my BFA and Graphic Design AD at Texas A&M I took as many Photography classes I could. Ever since, I've been photographing everything on my way: people, animals, clothes, food.. you name it, I've shot it. I love to capture the realness out of everything, the texture in trees, the movement in the hair, the pouty mouths during family shoots, the little flower girls running away from the altar... all of it, life

How did you get started with photography

I picked up a camera at the age of 9, and never put it back down. I've upgraded technology throughout the years, but I've done just about any kind of photography in my last 13 years of photographing, and in my 7 years of doing photography as a full time job. My dad got me an internship with a wedding photographer for my 14th birthday, and after a few years of training I started photographing weddings on my own, as well as maintaining my portrait clients in the greater San Antonio area. After high school, I attended The Art Institute of San Antonio where I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Photography and developed a portfolio specifically for commercial clients.

What do you love about your job?

When I was a child, my mother took of home video of me in which I told the old video camera that I never wanted to be stuck in an office job, but I wanted to be out and about working with people. With photography, I'm able to live out my dream job of working with people, capturing joy, and documenting genuine love.

What are some of your favorite places in San Antonio to take photographs?

In San Antonio, I love shooting in natural areas, parks, and around local shops to give a sense of your community in the images. The San Antonio Botanical Gardens is an example of one of my favorite locations for getting a lot of visual variety in one small space. I also frequently work around the Cibolo/Schertz/New Braunfels areas too, so feel free to ask about location recommendations! Like I've said before, I like to match the location to the uniqueness of each client.
