Sara acquired her Bachelors of Science in Photography in 2012 from the New England Institute of Art. Soon after, she began working with photographers and clients throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and New York, this led her to becoming one of the youngest photographers on staff for New York’s Fashion Week in 2013. While successful behind the camera in her commercial work, she desired to expand my depth of knowledge and advocacy in art as a form of social justice. I would go on to finish her Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Syracuse University in 2018, where she Directed one of the University Art Galleries until 2021. Working with artists and photographers on a global scale, she has produced many exhibitions, publications and community workshops in order to promote accessibility for bilingual arts programming. She relocated to Florida in 2022, where she continues to work as an independent photographer. She works with clients of all backgrounds, and believes creative storytelling is essential to the human experience.

How did you get started with photography

I began taking photos on a family bike trip! I was using just a disposable camera, but the creative freedom is what captured my love for photography! I went to college and invested in my first DSLR and minored in photography at Liberty University! I continued to expand my portfolio and versatility when it came to shooting the years after college. I worked as the lead photographer for a company that specialized in events for small businesses. My passion for portraits grew and I started shooting more engagement photos and weddings!

What do you love about your job?

I love using my camera to capture moments that will last a lifetime! It's a physically manifestation of a memory and is something that keeps that memory alive! I love being able to share my passion with the people who i take portraits of! I'm a people person and love telling stories of the individuals that I meet and have the opportunity to shoot!

What are some of your favorite places in Tampa to take photographs?

Some of my favorite places to shoot are hidden gems in the town of Safety Harbor! I love little coffee shops and parks with Spanish moss near the water! There have been so many amazing places that I have discovered in my time here that it is hard to chose just one favorite! I love exploring and discovering the beauty in all the places I go.
