Was liebst du an deinem Job?
The challenge. I do many different types of photography. Sometimes it is routine, but at other times my job can range from doing short and long-term time-lapse of a water tower construction to a product shoot of collectible guns. And I do restoration work that can always be challenging. I also love the diversity. I shoot just about everything.
Welche Shootings hast du schon gemacht und wie hast du sie besonders gemacht?
I have done many food and restaurant shoots. I'm always looking for anything that flames. I'm looking for the interesting people, the cook who has some flair. I'm also looking for interesting decorations. I like to shoot individual plates with a few side dishes and maybe even some ingredients on the table. I like to group multiple plates.
There are difficulties in making a commercial building shoot special. Usually, it is only the exterior that is photographed. Almost all knowledgeable realtors ask for virtually the same shots, and if they don't, I know what they will need.
Personal Real Estate photography of houses usually includes interior and exterior, and once again I am seeking out interesting details and amenities.
My portraits are usually done on location, someone's house, a park, and in the case of graduation photos, at a school. I look for interesting and appropriate locations, such as the Texas Tech botanical gardens. I have a good inventory of poses I like to use, but I also look for a few unusual shots. For example, I have shot a student tossing her hat in the air from a drone directly above her.
Product photography can vary from items I can photograph in my small studio to location shoots of products too large to move around. Everything varies, and it's very important to have a good take on the client's intentions, likes, and dislikes. For example, will a small glare on a wine bottle be tolerated by the client in a wine bottle shoot? In fact, at times I've had clients want that to make the photo seem more real.
Event photography is similar in many ways. One must really know the desires of the hiring client. Communication is key; or, one simply will not get all the photographs that the client wants.
Erhaltene Preise, Ehrungen und Anerkennungen
I haven't sought out awards or recognition. The Website that I ran for the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt, and which contained mostly my photography, was named one of the top 5 tourism destination sites by the World Tourism Organization. My photos have been featured in various publications throughout the world.

I've already mentioned it, but for 20 years, between 1994 and 2014, I was the webmaster and primary photographer for the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt and the Egyptian Tourist Authority. It was certainly fun for me.
