Andrea Stillone is a self-taught photographer, who by chance, but Fate is never accidental, approached the photography almost now an adult. From that moment on, a never neglected love has begun, which, even now, is marked by determination, perseverance and some times, by the curiosity typical of the childhood. The photography, in all its versions, became, very soon, a job, which, however, didn’t always allow him to follow, or better, to chase after his projects. Hence, he chose to continue with a kind of "parallel photography", which, even now, allows him to capture sunrises, to take part in photographic marathons or, even, to go into exotic markets to catch on camera their smells and sounds.

More about Andrea S....

What do you love about your job?

What I love most about my job is the ability to tell stories through images. Whether I’m photographing people, places, or objects, I’m always looking for the unique details that bring a story to life. Every shoot is a chance to connect, to observe, and to create something meaningful and authentic.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I’ve worked across many types of photography — from architecture to events, portraits, and more recently, concerts. What I enjoy most are architectural and event shoots, where I can either focus on clean composition and structure or capture authentic, unscripted moments.

Some of my most meaningful experiences have come from working with nonprofit organizations, like food banks and emergency response associations, where I was able to document real stories and connect with incredible people. I also had the chance to photograph a circus collective, which was a truly unique and inspiring experience.

What makes my work special is my constant search for the essence of a scene or subject. I always try to find unusual perspectives and use natural light to create honest, visually engaging images.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

While I haven’t received major awards, my work has been featured in local magazines and newspapers, which I consider meaningful recognition. For me, the greatest reward is when my photos connect with people or help tell an important story.

A fun fact about this photographer

I actually studied electronics before becoming a full-time photographer. One of my first jobs was as an industrial photographer for a manufacturing company — that’s where I learned to combine technical precision with creativity, which still influences my work today.
