More about Lyle D....
What do you love about your job?
I love that photography allows me to connect with people and capture fleeting moments that become timeless treasures. There’s nothing like seeing a client’s face light up when they see their portraits or knowing I’ve helped a business showcase its best self. Beyond that, I adore the creative process—finding the perfect light, composing a shot, and turning ordinary scenes into extraordinary art. Every session is a new adventure, and that excitement never fades.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I’ve photographed everything from intimate elopements and family sessions to commercial real estate and branding shoots. What makes each session special is my focus on storytelling and atmosphere. For couples, I’ll suggest golden-hour light at Tybee’s pier for a dreamy glow. For families, I turn sessions into playful adventures, letting kids explore while I capture their natural joy. And for professionals, I scout Savannah’s most photogenic backdrops—like the oak-lined paths of Forsyth Park—to elevate their brand’s aesthetic. Every client gets a personalized experience tailored to their vision.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
While my greatest reward is the trust of clients who return year after year, I’m proud to have my work recognized by local and national platforms. My event photography has been featured in Connect Savannah, the Savannah Business Journal, and WSAV for capturing the city’s spirit—from the 200th St. Patrick’s Day Parade to Veterans Day ceremonies. Additionally, my Desert Botanical Garden series was showcased as featured art, highlighting my versatility in both nature and urban photography. I’m committed to delivering excellence that’s both award-worthy and deeply personal.
A fun fact about this photographer
When I’m not photographing Savannah’s vibrant portraits or Tybee Island’s golden sunsets, you might spot me chasing the perfect light at dawn—whether it’s framing the desert blooms at Phoenix’s Botanical Garden or documenting Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade for Connect Savannah. My military background taught me to adapt quickly, which is why I love unexpected moments, like capturing a dolphin breaching during a beach session or a fox darting through Forsyth Park’s oaks!
