More about Markus S....
What do you love about your job?
For me life is like streetphotography. There you never know what is about to happen in front of your camera. But for your point of view, your perspective, the settings of your camera and the click at the right moment only you are responsible.
Then it depends on what you do with it.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
For example 2021 I've made a photo documentation about the black lives matter-protests in Germany for which I've been awarded with the New York Photography Award Professional as a Silver Winner. Because I was inside of the scenery, talking with demonstrants and participants I could make photos with kinda intimate touch.
2023 I was photographing the little city St. Peter Ording at the german Northsea coast. It's well know for its tides and its endless beaches in summer, so I was there with my camera in winter, capturing the "winterlights".
For this photo series I was also awarded with the New York Photography Award Professional as a Silver Winner.

A fun fact about this photographer
As I've mentioned before my grandfather built lenses for ZEISS and my mother worked as a photo laboratorian.
But before I started my career as a freelancing photographer I wasn't such interested in this topic on a professional level because I wanted to do something different than it was given through my family. So I became a journalist, made career at RTL Television before 2005 I started with my work as freelancing photographer.
Of course then I was so happy about anything my mom and my grandpa teached and showed me about photography already when I was a child.
