I started my photographic journey in 2009, I've cultivated a deep passion for storytelling through the art of imagery. Blending traditional and digital techniques, my diverse portfolio encapsulates the beauty of moments, spanning from intimate portraits to expansive landscapes.

I have always been interested in the arts and have found enjoyment in filling my free time experimenting with artistic activities. In my late teens, I started dedicating my creative energy towards photography. Through taking specialized courses in Advanced Art with a concentration in Commercial Photography throughout high school, I knew I had found my true passion. I soon began freelancing and interning with local professional photographers in my home state of Maine. To continue my education and strengthen my craft, I moved to Boston to attend The New England Institute of Art, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Photography. In 2014, I officially launched Hillary Deane Photography, where I focused on wedding, event and portrait photography. I also began second shooting for other photographers in the Greater Boston area. In 2023, I moved to Washington, DC.

I've had a passion for creative arts ever since I was a child. At an early age, I would pick up my saxophone and try my best to jam out with my father and uncle . Throughout my teenage years, I was arranging and producing music as a hobby. My interest in photography peaked during my senior year at George Mason University (GMU), while I was taking a photography course. I was amazed and fell in love with the process of being able to capture human expressions and emotions down to the millisecond. After graduating from GMU with a bachelor in Information Systems & Operations Management, I decided to expand my knowledge in the art of photography through books, attending seminars and shadowing local professional photographers at weddings and portrait sessions.
