Elena graduated from Parsons The New School for Design in 2008. Her main subject was always portraiture while she was a student but when she graduated she wanted to take a break from city life so she decided to spend some time in Puerto Rico to reconnect with her roots after leaving as a child. There, she developed a strong connection with the ocean and nature and began to explore the landscapes using her camera as a source of connection. She then began focusing more on landscape and nature photography as well as surfing photography. After 6 years exploring Puerto Rico she moved back to New York in 2015. She lived in a beach town to keep that connection alive, however the city inspired her to develop a liking toward city aesthetics and cityscapes. So now her work consists of mainly both landscapes and cityscapes from her travels around North America, Mexico and Puerto Rico as well as portraits, engagements, elopements and family shoots.
