¿Qué amas de tu trabajo?

I have always loved storytelling and it has been my honor to make photographs that tell the stories of those who know what they want to say, but lack the tools to fully convey their message. It can be the knowing glint in the eyes of a portrait subject that captures their "why." It can also be a vacation rental shoot staged exactly in a fashion that makes a potential client immediately reach out to the owner or a food shot so appetizing the viewer can sense its aroma and taste. There are so many layers to a successful image. I love exploring them and discovering more.

¿Qué tipos de sesiones has hecho y cómo las hiciste especiales?

I have photographed and written stories for newspapers and magazines for over thirty years. Included in my work have been portraits of politicians, welders, artists, craftsmen, chefs, harpists, opera directors and more. Each subject carefully researched so, at the time of the shoot, the conversation was about them, their passions and vision for the future. As for architecture and real estate, I research all available online images previously posted and draw a timeline as to its history. I then establish what the goal of the current client is and how to best achieve that goal utilizing what I've gleaned from previous work and research.

Premios, honores y reconocimientos

It has been nice to be recognized by my peers over the years. But my greatest acknowledgements have been from those who my work has assisted more by illustrating the value and impact their work has had on our lives.

I had a full scholarship to study music and my mother, a musician, was so disappointed that I gave it up for photography. Years later after she passed, I found bags filled with clips of my photos from publications that I worked for.
