One look through Delana Nalesnik’s portfolio shows that she expresses her passion for art through her photography. Her affinity for capturing fleeting moments started at a young age - as soon as her hands grew into holding a digital SLR camera. Since then, she has gained experience in capturing pictures for nearly every occasion: graduation, sports, parties, backyard gatherings and family portraiture, to name a few. If Delana does one thing different than the rest, it is undertaking the sophisticated task of doing more than just taking a picture; she uses every shutter to create an everlasting rendition of not just that moment, but a rendition of the personality, opportunity, courage, excitement or love within it. She prefers to use gorgeous outdoor locations as a backdrop so you can just relax and be yourself instead of being stuck in, what she calls, "a stuffy studio with more equipment than an operating room." As she believes the heart is a camera's true lens, one of her favorite quotes is, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”

Qu'est-ce que vous aimez dans votre métier ?

As a passionate photographer, I’ve fallen in love with my ability to bridge the gap between what it means to remember a memory and relive it. Pictures are a window to emotions when it comes to remembering a past experience; with them, it is possible to always be in the company of cherishable thoughts.

Quels types de séances avez-vous réalisés et comment les avez-vous rendus spéciaux ?

Before beginning any shoot, I like to talk to the client and ask them what their style is and how they like to be portrayed. For example, some people may want to be presented with a moody, dramatic style and on the other hand, others may prefer a more vibrant and colorful look. This talk makes every photoshoot special because it allows me to become familiar with the personality I’m capturing and take it into consideration when processing and editing the pictures.
