Yuliya Borov is a professional photographer in New York City with over 10 years of extraordinarily diverse experience in digital artistry. As a portrait, event, commercial and fine art photographer Yuliya received several awards, including First Place in the national Photo District News contest, two AGWPJA awards, and was the recipient of the Harnisch Family Journalism grant.

She has been a commercial and an event photographer for two of New York’s prominent photo studios in the past, while building her own business doing creative portraiture, studio work and dance and music coverage.

She has been a family photographer for many of her recurring clients, capturing the engagement, wedding, and newborn portraiture following the big festivities.

Yuliya has done commercial and creative headshot work for CEOs of several companies, as well as for local and international music producers, actors and dancers. She has covered corporate events and portraits for the MALDEF organization, Nielsen, and various charitable groups.

Apart from this versatile portfolio in commercial and portrait photography Yuliya has covered over 200 weddings as a lead photographer. She has had the privilege of covering destination weddings in Greece, Brazil, and across North America. In New York City her venue range has included the beautiful Plaza Hotel, the William Vale, Mandarin Oriental, Liberty Warehouse, the Pierre Hotel, and the city's avant-garde gems like the MoMa event space and the New Museum on the Bowery.

Passionate about the craft of photography, Yuliya loves working with people and creating professional, quality and unique images. She gives her full attention and expertise to each of her assignments and always goes the extra mile to make her clients happy.

Qu'est-ce que vous aimez dans votre métier ?

I love building a narrative through my photographs and capturing the essence of the moment. It is an honor to be able to document the special events for the people I work with, and I feel that it is a privilege to be given this role. I love applying the right techniques and my expertise in order to create unique, professional and gorgeous work. Be it a creative headshot, a fun family photo shoot, commercial and brand building image creation, a beautiful newborn session, a wedding or an engagement session, or a birthday and anniversary shoot, I give each assignment my all and put my skills and talents to work in the most committed way.

Quels types de séances avez-vous réalisés et comment les avez-vous rendus spéciaux ?

I have done over 200 weddings and engagement sessions, and many maternity and newborn sessions. I have also been a resident photographer at major nightlife venues in New York City, capturing dance performances and action shots as well as DJ portraiture, oftentimes in low light. I have been a personal photographer for some producers who travel a lot for music events. I have done corporate shoots and headshots as well.
I make my shoots special by building a specific light esthetic when applicable/possible, using good composition, and good lenses. Oftentimes it is a combination of different techniques that make my work stand out.
