We really love making connections with people. Most people are uncomfortable to be in front of the camera, so the very first task for us working with a client is to connect with them. We want to get to know them and help them feel comfortable and confident before the camera even makes it out of the bag. We aim to make shoots feel fun and help them forget they are even being photographed. Our shoots generally feel like we're hanging out with friends and that helps us get the most authentic portraits possible.

We've done lots of family portrait sessions with small children. We really make sure to connect with the kids to make them like us and trust us first before we pull out the big, scary camera. It makes all the difference.
Engagement sessions often start with a little wine. Hey, why not? Let's go out and have some fun as friends, not simply as a professional agreement.
For individual portrait sessions we help select a location that is special to the subject which helps bring out the real them and makes them feel completely at ease.
For real estate shoots, we really focus on the lighting to help create an images that represents the space and to help the viewer envision themselves living in that space. We want the space to feel homey.
