Dave Ross is a Perth based photographer with over 10 years in the industry. During that time Dave has shot with a variety of large organisations, providing corporate head shots as well as capturing events such as annual board meetings, sun-downers, balls, end of year celebrations, parades, such as Perth Pride Parade and general social events including staff and customers. Dave also contributes some of his time to shoot and coordinate for charity events such as Homeless Connect and Pierrotts Model Search.

Wat vind je het leukst aan je werk?

I enjoy capturing personal moments that people can reflect on and it takes them back to a moment in time. I also enjoy taking images which document the history or significant events for organisations and the moments they celebrate together such as corporate balls, end of year wind ups etc.

Welke soorten shoots heb je gedaan en hoe heb je ze speciaal gemaakt?

Recently I have shot Perth Pride Parade on behalf of St John Ambulance, TyrePower end of year ball, a heart attack awareness event at Yagan Square, Annual General Meeting for Committee for Perth and also their Christmas party at Crown, A vegan store in Subiaco as well as others that I cant really mention for commercial reasons. With these events I strive to make each person I speak with feel special, if at no other time then whilst their picture is being taken. This can be done by complimenting the person on something, listening to what they have to say or complimenting the event itself, particularly if they are an organiser. I ALWAYS attempt to capture the mood of the event. I have also done a number of portfolio and portrait shoots during the same time. During these I ensure I understand what the customer is seeking for the outcome, ensure they feel comfortable during the shoot and present in a friendly, professional nature.
