Wat vind je het leukst aan je werk?

What I love most about photography is how it captures and conveys emotions. A single photograph has the power to reveal what’s often overlooked — the subtle details, the textures, the atmosphere — and to make those small moments resonate. It’s an art of seeing, of pausing time to expose the story beneath the surface.

I also find great joy in photographing still objects, especially in series for catalogs or promotional shoots. Whether it’s clothing, furniture, or other creations, I love the challenge of capturing the spirit of these objects, and the vision of their creators. Through careful lighting, composition, and perspective, each image becomes an invitation into a world — one that reflects not just the object itself, but the mood and intent behind it.

Photography, for me, is about telling stories from all around the world, in every corner of life, whether it’s people, places, or things. Whether I’m photographing a fleeting moment or a meticulously designed object, the beauty is in how those images can speak — how they can evoke feelings, reveal character, and share a unique perspective.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working on a variety of shoots that span from fashion and furniture for catalogs to portraits of musicians, artists, and business professionals. Each shoot is an opportunity to reveal something unique, something that speaks not just to the object or person in front of me, but to the story they carry.

When photographing clothing or furniture, I carefully craft the positioning and lighting to showcase the essence of the piece — to highlight its form, texture, and beauty in a way that feels natural yet captivating. I approach each shot with precision, aiming to capture the object in its best light, so it communicates both quality and character. Every piece deserves to be seen in a way that makes its potential clear.

In portraiture, whether I’m photographing musicians, artists, or business professionals, my goal is always to capture the passion and drive that fuels their work. I strive to reveal the depth of their character — to create a visual connection that speaks to the emotions and values they wish to convey. It’s about more than just a face; it’s about telling the story behind their craft and their mission.

Beyond people and objects, my passion for nature has led me to explore and photograph vast landscapes, from serene natural settings to complex human-made creations like cities, buildings, and gardens. I find beauty in both the raw elegance of the earth and the intricate, thoughtful designs of human endeavor. Whether I’m capturing the expansive horizon or the fine details of architectural masterpieces, I aim to show how each scene tells a story of creation — whether shaped by nature or human hands.

Prijzen, onderscheidingen en erkenningen ontvangen

Well, as of now, no awards for my photography — but then again, I’ve never actively tried to win one! I suppose I’ve been too busy capturing the moments that matter to worry about the trophies. But who knows? Maybe someday a "Most Unnoticed Yet Deeply Impactful Photo" award will pop up. I’d be honored.

My thirteen-year-old daughter plays the drums, and I play the piano. When we jam together, the sound is… well, let’s just say it’s unique. Two percussion instruments in the mix definitely create a sound that’s… interesting. Let’s just hope the neighbors enjoy experimental music!
