What do you love about your job?
I love capturing moments where my clients shift from nervous to comfortable and relaxed. It’s a privilege to witness that level of intimacy and I don’t take the trust required to get there for granted. I love exploring lighting situations and new scenery. I love the collaboration between the client and I to make art. I love the esteem boost my clients feel after seeing the results of our adventure.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I’ve done a variety of lifestyle portraiture of families, couples, individuals, in moments of celebration, intimacy, love, and style. My shoots are special because I work with the model to create organic and authentic scenes where they see themselves in a way that they often haven’t before. With art as my background, I strive to create scenes with my models that capture the drama in natural lighting and shadow, and capture the beauty and regality of my models that they feel within themselves without the need for extra makeup, tucks, or surgery in post.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I haven’t entered my photography into anything yet to receive awards, yet. But the biggest honor and recognition has been the feedback I’ve received from every single model and client I’ve worked with to date.
A fun fact about this photographer
I had a private chef stint in for a year while living in Yucatán, Mexico for 3 years. I love food and cooking it and my local and immigrant friends insisted I should sell dishes or go cook in people’s kitchens for them so I did both.
