More about Alexander K....
What do you love about your job?
I like the process of creation and the arfform of photography that communicates messages similarly to music or other artforms. I like to work with people and deliver my vision and capture their unique moments for them.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've worked professionally for 16 years, covering concerts, theatre, ballet, corporate events, sports, portraits, documentary projects and commercial photography. I've completed several major documentary series and over 1,000 client shoots. I focus on capturing authentic moments and the atmosphere of an event, combining strong technical skills with storytelling.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
While I focus primarily on client work rather than entering competitions, I was honored to be a national finalist in the Young Photographers of Russia competition (2017) for my documentary series Rural Life of Russia. My photography has been published in magazines across Russia and Australia, and featured in several books on dance and ballet, including a published biography of ballerina Joy Womack by Elizabeth Shvedenko.
A fun fact about this photographer
A documentary photography project completely changed the course of my career. After documenting an American ballerina, who was a graduate of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, I ended up working with the Academy and became the technical director of its international online education programmes. It's a great reminder that one assignment can take you somewhere you never expected.
Outside of photography, I'm an enthusiastic runner with Wimborne Athletic Club and enjoy combining the two by photographing local races whenever I can.
