Bradford Martin is an experienced professional photographer working in Central Florida in the Melbourne/Cape Canaveral area aka the Space Coast. I consider myself a documentary style photographer with an artist's eye. I have collectors of my photos as art prints worldwide and I also have been published in books and major magazines as well as web sites like Visit Florida as well as Georgia and Savannah tourism sites and business sites. I have covered many events from fundraisers and company promotional meet ups to private parties. I have photographed countless homes and businesses. I love photographing people on the beach!
I love the integration of technology and art that photography provides. I also like meeting people and helping them. I get into a lot of places the public doesn't see including many beautiful homes as well as a behind the scenes look at restaurants and other businesses. I also like attending events and being part of it by being the photographer.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
Recently I covered a thank you event put on by a real estate firm. They rented the entire visitor center in Port Canaveral and invited anyone that ever bought or sold with them. It was indoors and out. As the guests approached the building I introduced my self and asked if they minded posing. This way I got them in nice light and a good background. I told them the photos would be on a website for them to see. As the party progressed and people were comfortable with me I tried to catch them doing things like enjoying listening to the band. Of course I also got the wide shots of the outdoor dining area and the crowd and building for the client to show off in the future. I have done almost every type of shoot from reunions to team photos to engagements to car shoots.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
The award which I am most proud of is second place t the Space Coast Art Fair, which had a prize of $200 many years ago. I am also proud that I was juried into the Melbourne Art festival which is one of the nation's top art shows, so the competition is fierce. I was the only photographer from Brevard County, which is where it was held. Also when Istockphoto launched their Vetta collection and put out a call for stock photos done artistically I got several accepted in. One was a top 10 Vetta seller for months and has netted me about $8,000 in royalties. This on a site with millions of images.
A fun fact about this photographer
Last year I was second place in the Florida Harmonica Championships held in New Smyrna Beach. I hope to do better next time, but l was bested by great player visiting from Chicago.
