Brandi R.

Brandi Rollins is storyteller that photographs the beauty of human connection. When clients look at their photos, she wants them to not only see themselves...she wants them to see how beautiful they are, and how lovely their relationships and families are.

The truth is that our photos matter. Photos hold memories for us. They evoke smiles and tears long after they are taken. For this reason, it is Brandi's mission to take vivid photos that capture the love, tenderness, and joy within each family, individual, wedding, and event that she is privileged to have in front of her camera.

Brandi Rollins has had a passion for photography since she received her first hot pink camera in elementary school. She began using semi-professional camera equipment to photograph recipes for her online blog and book, Raw Foods on a Budget. In 2017, she turned professional after being hired to photograph a family member's wedding. Since then, she has had the opportunity to photograph weddings, birthdays, baptisms, family portraits, couples, graduates, and professionals.

More about Brandi R....

What do you love about your job?

I love to tell stories, and to capture connection and intimacy with my camera. I love that I get to meet new people, make them laugh, and show them how beautiful they are. It is really wonderful work.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done engagement and anniversary shoots. I make them special by getting to know the couple, making them laugh, and emphasizing that I am simply here to document their connection. I am not interested in making them look like someone else. What they already have is beautiful and it is my job to capture this beauty. Oh and I have them make out a bit lol. In fact, I use this same approach for weddings, events, and family sessions: I get to know them, make them laugh, and I document intimacy and connection.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

I have not received any awards. However, one my books that featured my food photography won an independent book publishers award in 2012.

A fun fact about this photographer

I am a research professor at Penn State University (work remotely). Oh and I spent time in an Ecuadorian prison....doing an ethnography :).
