What do you love about your job?
I have always said I am a dad first. My wife works full time so I hold the fort. I organize the kids for school, cook dinner, clean, etc etc. Nothing extraordinary I know.
Being a photographer lets me put my family first.
I also am seriously into the gym and activities to keep me fit as well. I also train Zen do kai 2 nights a week.
Being a photographer lets me put me first.
Don't get me wrong, being self employed as a busy full time photographer is a massive effort. But I have enough flexibility to put into myself and family first.
In between put a camera in my hand and I get to put on my extrovert hat and meet so many amazing people and see some awesome things and places.
I love weddings because it brings out the very best in people. Everybody is happy and I can feel the love.
I enjoy being in front of something and given the freedom to express and reflect how ever I want to.
I love that people enjoy my art. Enough so to be voted best at it a few times for various contests.
I love how what I do is unique to me.......
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
Being a photographer is a journey and being on that journey you learn (or should) that your personality is everything. You have to be able to sail the ship in all seas. Being able to work through any complication or barrier. You need a bag of tricks and that is your personality. I can name hundreds of photo shoots that had difficulties.
