Even as a child Brian Cabrera was always fascinated by Art of Photography. He had begged and did more than his share of chores in order to earn his first Samsung flip phone which had one of the first built in cameras (If you can call it a camera at all.) It wasn't until the arrival of the Iphone3 that Brian could really hone and nurture his love for photography.

He would photograph nearly everything that could be made into art. Pretty soon through his appreciation of contemporary art, he understood how to frame inanimate objects from pencils on a desk to obscurely grown weeds in green fields to make them appear "artsy."

Despite having no formal training, his time was consumed with photography blogs and film literature. It was then apparent to him that the way he had viewed and understood his beloved hobby was that of a formally learned artist.

Brian then purchased his first Nikon D3200 and 50mm 1.8 lens and
painstakingly learned his new instrument of joy.

He walked into the office of an old colleague he had met in his time in the laboratory industry (which he still frequents). He was the owner of an entertainment company.

He had asked Brian
" How would you like to work for my company as a photographer?"

Brian muttered
"As much as this captivates me, I have no experience..."

It was then Brian was offered to accompany him to all of his events being his "Personal Photographer."
Like a spy, Mr. Brian analyzed his competitors, learned the tricks of the trade, and even sold his photos to unlucky photographers who did not make the grade.

FAST FORWARD...

Eight years in, more than 200 events later, 10 cameras acquired, 20 lenses focused, and 100,000 images captured, Brian has not only understood the Art of the Photography, but discovered the Heart of Photography.

More about ...

What do you love about your job?

I find so many things about the nature of my work to be joyful.
I like being able to witness once in a lifetime events.
Being present during the tenderness of ones first kiss the moment they become two.
My knees still become weak at a father dancing with his daughter when she turns sixteen (As I am father to daughter.)
However, what I LOVE the most about my work is that it will live longer than the subjects, its life will continue farther than I, these memories will weather any test of time.

I am truly humbled when I am revisited by my former subjects and see that my work lives on their wall, has a home in a frame at their parents beside , resides on the desk of their work, relived through the eyes of their most tested times, and through the lives of those that wish to remember and pay respect.

Some believe that heaven is being transported to a time where they were happiest, others see a second chance.
I believe living in the hearts and minds through memories, is to live forever.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Under my belt I have shot:

Weddings, Engagements, Grooms & Brides Getting Ready, Wedding Portraiture, Boudoir, Headshots, Quinceanera/Sweet 16's/Bat & Bar Mitzva's , First Birthdays (Old, Middle Aged, Young), Maternity Shoots, Food, Fashion,
New Born (Though I will not accept any newborn), Graduations, Baby Showers, Bridal Parties, Prom, Conventions, Small/Large Parties (Super bowl, backyard, Christmas sweater, etc) , Club/Lounges, Bris', Televised Event, Retirement Parties, Anniversaries, Calendar (for significant others), Baby Showers, and Live Bands)

Man, that was a mouthful....

Though many of these events are very different from each other, There is one component that I use to make everyone feel unique and special.

Providing undivided attention .

By providing my attention I am able to gauged if a couple is shy and needs direction, I am able to read emotion and correctly address the situation in a manner that one feels at ease, I am able to calculate if I am stuck to the debutantes hip or to sally fourth capture guests, I can correctly measure if the subject needs a break from being the center of attention.

Attention speaks volumes, determines action, and portrays endearment.
