More about BRIAN L....

What do you love about your job?

I enjoy meeting different and diverse people and finding new locations. I also enjoy the technical aspect that is required to be able to photograph in difficult lighting situations

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done many model and pageant shoots. I try to make each entrant in a pageant to look like the winner of the pageant. I have shot people in great locations and organised different props to complete the feeling of the moment

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

I have been awarded honours from The Photogrpahic Societ of New Zealand (APSNZ) and The Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) I was the winner of the 2021 Salon run by the North Shore Photographic Society in Auckland. I won a trophy for the best monochrome image in the Sony National Photographic Salon run by the Photographic Society of New Zealand. I have numerous images accepted in the annual New Zealand Camera publication which is a collection of the best images of any year for work done by members of The PSNZ, I have received some awards in International Salons. Too many to list here but the list is available to any one interested in checking them out.

A fun fact about this photographer

I used to play the piano when I was at school and I played the organ in chapel. If I saw a piano in a public place I sometime would sit down and play a medley. There was one time when there were two pianos and I would play the same tune at the same time as the other guy did. I had no idea what he wanted to play but somehow I managed to play the same tune as he did. Usually it was the hit of the week. I gave up playing the piano after I left my country of birth.
