More about Charles S....
What do you love about your job?
I am a creative, social and perfectionist person. Photography allow me to be fully myself within the job. I actually don't feel working. Which means that I do what I love to do and I do it well. I love interacting with the customers, listening their projects and making the best out of it. Sometimes they don't have a precise idea and I like to advice them. It is always a team project and when I come with the final product, seeing them being surprised and happy, is one of the best part of the job.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done many food photography. As en example, one customer had a product that was aesthetically not appealing but delicious. I built up the product into an environment and light that make you feel that you had to get it before you die. The customer was really happy as the sales increased a lot.
For portraits or family/kids photography. One customer tald me that she wanted some portraits of his son, but that no one succeed it before doing it the right way. So I took a little time to talk and interact with the kid. I found out that he loved dancing. So I started a dance/portrait session with him. The results where amazing and natural. Portrait is a social experience.
For product photography. I first listen carefully what is the customer idea, then if necessary I proposed some extra creativity ideas and look what is the product, what for... Look at the target and think myself as if I was the client of my customer. It always guide me to find the best creative and useful set I'm gonna work with.
