I was born in Hong Kong and I came to England to pursue higher education at Keele University where I studied Business and Psychology. My Photography journey began 5 years ago when I was working as a Japanese Chef. After I graduated, through extensively working with Japanese food. I have learned to appreciate my creativity and what mother nature has to offer, then I started seeing life from a different perspective.

My real passion began after I decided to change my career from working as a chef to becoming a photographer, in the last two years I have been working with a number of agencies (FocalAgent, Airbnb, 99home, Meero) as well as private clients. My photography and videography service range from wedding, food, product, event, property to vehicle, which includes driving to various locations throughout the southeast of England, contacting clients in a professional and friendly manner and post-production editing by using lightroom and shortCut. Recently, as well as photographing a new product range, I also produced a short video clip for a product and it thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of it.

More about Chris C....

What do you love about your job?

Being able to connect with people is what I love about this job, you get to meet people from all walks of life and explore creativity together. I particularly enjoy Wedding photography, although very intense due to the number of events that are unfolding in a single moment. The end result, is phenomenon especially after giving them their wedding album and seeing their faces, it was the most rewarding job I have ever done in my life. Another aspect is that I can interact with the couple and building that relationship leading up to their wonderful wedding day.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I recently did a product shoot and it was at my clients' house. It was difficult to find a good spot to stage the shoot. In the end, I had to use the garden and it was much better than I expected with the natural light and greenery in the background. What I did especially, were staging the individual item and making sure that they are positioning perfectly, as well as waiting for the cloud to pass.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

A fun fact about this photographer

I studied Business and Psychology at university but then ended up becoming a Japanese chef for over 9 years. And then I began my photography journey, which I have never thought of. I guess that is where life can take you some time.
