Chris has been enthralled with photography since high school. The problem solving aspect has always been his biggest motivator. He lived in NYC for many years and have traveled the globe while helping to create content for some of the largest brands in the world. The fact that no two days on set are ever the same is the reason He's addicted to this incredible medium.

More about Chris M....

What do you love about your job?

It might be controversial, but my favorite part about my job is the problems, the downfalls, the failures, and the flaws. Don't get me wrong, a flawless shoot is always what is aimed for, but seldom is there a shoot without at least one minor hiccup. I've always viewed myself as a problem solver, and the chance to create from the difficulties is really what gets me going. Life is ever-changing, and so is the photography medium. In order to push the limits on what's possible, mistakes will be made. I can't think of anything that anyone has ever done right the first time. Much with photography, it's rare that the first shot taken is THE ONE. Continually striving for something better will undoubtably create less than desired results along the way, but the final product is always better than I imagine.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Every one has their own ideas about who they are and what they stand for. One of my favorite things is not showing any of the images until I get to a place where I feel like I've captured the essence of who they are. My favorite part is watching the reaction of someone seeing their true self. Looking in a mirror can be intimidating, but when that person looking back at you is what you've always wanted to be, the level of emotion is unheralded.

A fun fact about this photographer

I used to race mountain bikes in high school and since then have continued to feel more comfortable on two wheels than on two feet.
I'm also currently learning German!
