I love capturing a mood. Almost all of the work I do is for advertising and social media, so everything I shoot needs to capture the right vibe or aesthetic, regardless of what the subject is. For me that means I get to spend time in some pretty fun places, so I can get a better sense of how things should look and feel.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've recently done more family and children's portraits. These are important to me because I know how much family photo's mean to my family, and it's great to be able to help give that to another family. With family shoots, my main focus is always on keeping everyone comfortable and not focusing too much on the camera. Usually that means I bring some music to set a mood so there's no silence. When shooting children, I bring an old digital camera so they can "shoot with me" a bit. I always aim for a session like that to be as fun and comfortable as possible.
