Colin Morris is a self-trained portrait photographer who enjoys putting inexperienced subjects and clients at ease. He brings his clients’ vision to life with collaborative, relaxed shoots that produce authentic results.
I love the mechanics and process of photography, but the most exciting moments are when a subject looks at a photo of him- or herself and sees beauty.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I like to shoot in public. Street photography is thrilling because so little is in your control and your collaborators can include everyone from your subject to passersby and traffic itself. This also allows me to create a natural environment and sense of normalcy for portrait subjects, because it lacks the pressure of a private studio.
A fun fact about this photographer
I'm also a songwriter and recording artist. My post-rock band, Parc Department, began playing shows in 2023.
