I am an well trained and and traditionally disciplined cinematographer. I received my education and training in film production from the Academy of Art University. My extensive experience in motion pictures, more specifically with film and digital cameras, lighting techniques and storytelling has led me to the world of photography. Being that I started in with my training in traditional motion picture film cameras, I initially approached photography from a technical perspective. However, I have come to realized that it doesn't matter what gear I shoot with, what education I have acquired, or what technical aspects I should apply. The final image is a reflection of my passion and creative expression to capture something truly amazing that lifts people's spirits. With photography, I get to have opportunities to share special moments with people and to establish professional relationships with them.

More about Dane D....

What do you love about your job?

I love the interaction with people and creating unique relationships and experiences with them that leaves lasting positive impressions. I love the freedom it allows me to have financially and time spent with my wife. It's relaxing, therapeutic and enjoyable. Doing something creative cannot hold a candle to what I used to do. There's so much flexibility and everything I do, is my decision. I am able to create something that I own. Moreover, I can inspire people, I can motivate people. Photography for me is visual psychology. I have the ability to move people emotionally, visually make them feel the way I want them to feel, take them on a journey they otherwise wouldn't have taken visually.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Every shoot is special in its own way, but what makes them special to me is the way the photograph is captured, taking in the small moments when I make my clients laugh or smile. I typically shoot portraits now. When I first started, I did mainly weddings and events. However, I do want to get back into wedding photography because I get to capture a once in a life time event that families will look upon and cherish forever.
