Daniel M.

trophy Featured photographer in Pittsburgh

For more than a decade, I’ve built my career around creating bold, high-impact commercial photography and video that helps brands stand out. As an award-winning photographer and cinematographer, I’ve worked with everyone from local businesses to nationally recognized brands, producing campaigns that combine strong visual storytelling with strategic marketing.

My style is bright, bold, and unapologetically eye-catching. Whether I’m photographing products, food, lifestyle campaigns, or directing commercial video productions, my goal is always the same: create visuals that make people stop scrolling and start paying attention. Every project is approached with a balance of creativity and purpose, ensuring the final work not only looks exceptional but also delivers results.

Throughout my career, I’ve partnered with brands across industries including food and beverage, healthcare, fitness, cannabis, sports, and consumer products. I believe great creative isn’t about following trends. It’s about building imagery that feels authentic, memorable, and impossible to ignore. No matter the challenge, I’m always looking for the next opportunity to push creative further and produce work that leaves a lasting impression.

More about Daniel M....

What do you love about your job?

What I love most about my job is that it has never felt like work. I get to make a living doing something I’m genuinely passionate about while creating images that reach thousands, sometimes millions, of people. There are few feelings more rewarding than walking through a store, flipping through a magazine, or seeing an ad online and knowing that I was the person behind the camera.

Just as rewarding are the people this career has introduced me to. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside incredible clients across countless industries, each with their own story to tell. Those relationships have taken me across the country, allowed me to experience places I never imagined, and continually remind me how fortunate I am to do what I love every single day.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I’ve had the opportunity to photograph everything from small local businesses to national advertising campaigns for brands like Coca-Cola, the Atlanta Braves, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Green Bay Packers, the San Francisco 49ers, and dozens of restaurants. Along the way, I’ve also had the chance to work with a number of celebrities, with Usher being one of the highlights of my career.

No matter the size of the client or production, my approach is always the same. I show up prepared, stay present, remain professional, and make sure everyone is enjoying the process. I believe the best work comes from an environment where people feel comfortable, collaborative, and excited to create, and that’s the kind of energy I strive to bring to every set.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to receive recognition from several of the industry’s leading creative competitions, earning multiple Gold and Silver awards from both the New York Photography Awards and the NYX MarCom Awards for excellence in commercial photography and visual storytelling. One of the milestones I’m most proud of was photographing the author portrait for the New York Times bestselling book How to ADHD, seeing my work become part of a publication that reached readers around the world. While awards and recognition are incredibly meaningful, my greatest motivation has always been creating work that tells compelling stories, elevates brands, and leaves a lasting impression.

A fun fact about this photographer

A fun fact about me is that during my freshman year of college, the band I was playing in got signed to a record label. I made the decision to put school on hold and hit the road as a touring musician, an experience that taught me just as much about creativity, collaboration, and hard work as any classroom ever could. It’s a chapter of my life I’ll always be grateful for, and given the chance, I’d do it all over again.
