More about Dorin V....
What do you love about your job?
What I love most about my job is the connection—with people, with places, and with moments that often go unnoticed. Photography gives me the chance to slow down and really see someone—their energy, their story, their truth—and then translate that into an image that lasts.
There’s something incredibly fulfilling about creating portraits that feel real and honest, whether it’s for a couple in love, an artist, a traveler, or a brand. I love the quiet moments during a shoot when someone starts to forget the camera is there, and just is. That’s when the magic happens.
I also love the variety—one day I’m shooting in the soft light of my Florence studio, another I’m chasing golden hour across a Tuscan hilltop or working on a commercial campaign with a creative team. No two sessions are ever the same.
And maybe most of all, I love that this work allows me to keep growing. Photography continues to teach me how to look deeper, stay curious, and remain present—and for that, I’m grateful every single day.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
Over the years, I’ve worked on a wide range of shoots—from intimate portraits and romantic proposals in Florence to commercial campaigns, editorial stories, and documentary projects around the world.
Each type of shoot brings its own rhythm, but what makes them special is the same: I take the time to connect. I listen, I observe, and I create an atmosphere where people feel safe to be themselves—whether it’s a solo traveler discovering Florence, a couple celebrating their engagement, or a brand team working on a creative vision.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
While I’ve been fortunate to have my work featured in various exhibitions and projects around the world, I don’t actively pursue awards or honors. For me, photography is a deeply personal and artistic practice, and I believe its true value lies in the connections I make and the stories I help tell—not in trophies or titles.
Recognition from clients, collaborators, and the people I photograph means far more to me than any formal award. That genuine impact is what keeps me passionate and inspired every day.
A fun fact about this photographer
