I have 8 years of collective photography experience, knowledge and practical management of photography equipment, and 10 months in a range of professional settings as a newspaper staff photographer, newspaper Assistant Photo Editor, working for a non-profit, School Photographer, and most recently, as a photographers assistant and wedding content creator for professional wedding photographers! I independently photograph portraits, events, and musicians directly for their management on a freelance basis. I have 3 years of experience in event photography, portrait photography. My newspaper background informs my editorial-photojournalistic or editorial yet documentary approach I have experience with natural light, and on camera flash. Fun fact: one of my lenses was used for red carpet photography in its past life.

What do you love about your job?

What I love is the ability to utilize my knowledge, training, technical knowledge, composition rules, and skills of mine to create a fresh perspective of a subject.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done portrait photography, event photography, concert photography, wedding photography, and more. I also have a behavioral studies background (2 years of coursework as a psychology major at UofSC, and 40 hour Registered Behavioral Technician Course) and years of childcare experience to ensure that everyone of all ages are entertained, comfortable, and confident in front of the camera! I can communicate posing cues in a variety of ways, and get those expressions of personality that are key to photographs. A combination of my organization, experience, passion, and professionalism makes me prepared before the shoot arrives. If you want someone that triple checks the shot list, has it on hand, studies what you want and requested, and someone who captures key moments in a professional, unobtrusive way, I am the guy for you.
