More about Emily T....
What do you love about your job?
I love capturing moments. Moments that would soon turn into memories, that without the photo would become difficult to remember. I love people coming to me after seeing their photos and saying how they never knew they could look like this. How they had never really felt confident enough until I photographed a side to them that they could love. I thrive off of the satisfaction and happiness others receive when they look at the pictures I've taken of them. It's such a wonderful feeling knowing you've caused the confidence they now have.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've taken several senior portraits as well as just going out and capturing strangers who wish to be photographed. I took every senior portrait session in a different spot. To make that location specific and special to that one person. I mostly let them choose where they wanted to go, in case there was a memory they had affiliated somewhere and wanted to look back and remember all of it. The strangers I take pictures of are usually a lot shorter shoots, and most of them are downtown. I'll walk around with my camera and sometimes people will approach me and ask for photos, but other times I've asked people who I thought would be perfect go the type of style I had in mind. Most were up for the task, others kindly declined. It's also a wonderful way to make friends.
