What do you love about your job?
I love that photography is the opportunity to take a client’s vision for a shoot from a concept in their mind, to a reality on their screen. Whether I’m meeting with the client to shoot their newest product, or getting the chance to capture photos to surprise their loved ones that a little one is on the way, photography sessions tend to happen at exciting moments in my client’s lives. It’s an honor to be able to work alongside them, get the creative juices flowing, and execute it as though I was seeing the exact same dream as them when I close my eyes at night.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
Some of my favorites shoots I’ve done are a combination of headshot and lifestyle photography. I love meeting clients in a local park, taking time to connect with them and put them at ease, and then capturing beautiful photos that they can look back on for years to come. I’ve had people say to me “Why do you only take pictures of good-looking people?” I would argue that a great photographer is able to put their clients at ease and direct them in a way that allows them to look natural on camera. Thus giving everyone the chance to look beautiful. I’d like to think I am one of those photographers.
