More about Erik M....
What do you love about your job?
I love that most of the time I'm having a good time performing my job. I love the reactions I can get from my clients and even the reactions I can give myself. I love creating beautiful photos, and I love the places it has taken me and the way it's changed my life.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
When I shoot automotive I tend to really find a good location to shoot at to have a nice flow with the car. Whether it be the color, year, vehicle type, I always try to find a good scene to fit the subject in.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
Back in the day sneaker websites with blogs would pick top photos posted and I would consistently make it in there. I have been in a few automotive magazines, one which released in Japan showcasing US cars. I have also won cover photo contest in Facebook groups amongst top automotive photographers in the industry, those feel satisfying.
A fun fact about this photographer
I started skateboarding for a couple years back in 2009, when I was in High School, my friend who taught me moved away and I slowly stopped skating, there weren't any local parks back in those days and I would just skate on the streets. I stopped skating, for many years, and at the beginning of this year I hopped back on the skateboard. Now I understand it more and I'm better than I was before. It's a cool activity to do, I get my cardio in that way and it helps with my mentality on trying again and not giving up. I find it good for myself, other than the fact that you can get seriously hurt, it's very rewarding.
