More about Ernita S....
What do you love about your job?
The best part of being a professional photographer? Without a doubt — it’s the people. Every shoot brings a new connection, a new energy, and a new story waiting to be told. I have the privilege of meeting incredible individuals and turning fleeting moments into something timeless through a single frame — or sometimes an entire series of them.
More than simply taking photographs, I’m deeply drawn to storytelling — capturing moments as they truly are: honest, expressive, a little raw, and beautifully unique. Every person carries their own story, and I love finding creative ways to translate that into imagery that feels authentic, artistic, and alive.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing clients experience their final images for the first time — the smiles, the surprise, the quiet confidence, and the “wow, that’s actually me” moment. That shared excitement never gets old.
For me, photography is about more than creating beautiful images. It’s about connection, emotion, confidence, and preserving memories in a way that can be felt long after the moment has passed.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I’ve captured countless fashion, engagement, wedding, travel, and portrait sessions across Sydney and internationally—and no two shoots are ever the same, because every project gets my full creative focus. My work and imagery have also been featured in publications like Vogue and Bride To Be magazine, reflecting the level of detail and artistry I bring to every shoot.
From day one, I’m fully hands-on—curating the right models, styling elevated looks, and coordinating hair and makeup so everything feels intentional and cohesive. I build detailed mood boards to shape the vision, so when shoot day arrives, everything flows effortlessly—leaving space for creativity, spontaneity, and those standout moments.
Whether we’re scouting the perfect location or shooting in-studio, I make the process seamless. I can tether directly to my computer, allowing you to view images in real time—so we can fine-tune, adjust, and perfect every detail on the spot. The result? A smooth, collaborative experience and high-end imagery that consistently delivers.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
My awards and recognition are best reflected through the publications and features my work has earned over the years. From an early breakthrough in Yen Magazine (2010) and Vogue Italia (2011), to major showcases with the Powerhouse Museum and Fashion Design Studio (2014), Bride to Be Magazine (2015), The Daily Telegraph (2016), and The Australian (2018)—each milestone represents a chapter in an evolving creative journey.
Rather than traditional awards, my work has been recognised through trusted editorial platforms that continue to champion and share my photography on both national and international stages.
A fun fact about this photographer
I once showed up to a shoot so early I basically surprised myself—rocked up 1 hour and 10 minutes ahead of schedule thanks to reading my calendar completely wrong. Not my finest moment… but hey, if you want someone who’ll never be late, I’m your photographer 😅
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me travelling, doing Pilates, and sticking (mostly!) to my no-food-after-6pm rule—which helped me drop 23kg. Discipline, adventure, and a good sense of humour included!
