More about Gideon O....
What do you love about your job?
What I love most about my job is the people. Every shoot is a new story, a new connection, and a chance to make someone feel seen. I love creating a comfortable space where people can be themselves—whether they’re laughing, dancing, or just quietly present—and capturing those genuine moments. There’s something incredibly rewarding about delivering photos that make people smile, cry, or say, “That’s so me.”
I also love the timelessness of it all. Knowing that years from now, someone will look at a photo I took and be transported back to that exact moment—that’s a powerful feeling. It reminds me that what I do matters.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I’ve done nearly every kind of shoot—portraits, events, weddings, corporate headshots, branding sessions, lifestyle shoots, family portraits, graduations, and even product photography. What makes each one special isn’t just the setup or the gear—it’s the experience I create for the people in front of my camera.
I take time to understand what each client wants, and I bring positive energy, creativity, and genuine interest in their story. Whether it's making a nervous client laugh during a portrait session, blending in seamlessly at an event to catch those real, unscripted moments, or guiding a business owner through their first branding shoot, I make sure every person feels seen, comfortable, and confident.
My goal is always to create not just great images, but a memorable experience. Because when people enjoy the process, it always shows in the final photos.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I received a lot of praise from the entire board of Pro Manchester—the largest business development organisation in the North West —for the images I took at one of their major events. They publicly recognized my work on LinkedIn, which was a really rewarding moment for me. Getting that kind of acknowledgment from such a respected group showed me that my photography can make a real impact and connect with people.
A fun fact about this photographer
A fun fact about me is that during my undergraduate days, I was basically the group’s official “selfie stick” because I was the tallest guy around! I’d always be the one holding the camera for selfies, capturing all the laughs and candid moments. That role unexpectedly sparked my love for photography, and now I get to do it professionally—just with a lot more gear and way better pictures!
