More about Godfrey P....

What do you love about your job?

Everyone is a photographer these days, with smartphones recording everything from their breakfast to the concert they attended, and especially their cats. I love showing them the difference between a snap on a phone and the considered, planned, composed and perfectly timed photograph I produce for them.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I did a shoot for a couple and their children, two boys and a girl. The boys were triplets but their brother sadly died at birth. Mum and dad wanted to capture them as triplets not twins so we discussed options around this. The series of photos taken on a fabulous afternoon in a local wood delighted the parents and one also won best image in an exhibition at the Library of Birmingham.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

Best photograph at the Multiple Realities exhibition at the Library of Birmingham.
I was shortlisted in the Politics of Food category in the Pink Lady Food Photography of the Year Award.

A fun fact about this photographer

I drove my Land Rover from England to Ghana to build a well in a remote village there and then drove home again. I spent 18 months planning the trip and preparing Jessie my Land Rover before bundling all my children and foster children in and setting off for a 12,000 mile adventure.
