Gustavo is a highly experienced professional portrait and editorial photographer with over 16 yrs. of experience working with clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. Before Gustavo was creating beautiful images for his clients he was a working actor in Los Angeles appearing in TV shows (X-Files & Days of our Lives) & commercials (Joe Boxer, JC Penny & Wrangler) so he understands what it’s like to be in front of the camera and has strong skills & empathy to help get his subjects relaxed in order to get that perfect shot.
My job is not a job since I’m getting to do what I love on a daily basis. My wish is to continue to create images that are memorable and capture the beauty, humanity and grace of this increasingly complex world. I look forward to working together.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've shot in a ton of different scenarios. Here are few: -Executive portraits of C-level executives for a variety of tech companies. -Business portraits of medical professionals for branding (Dentists, Plastic Surgeons, and family practice etc.) -Real Estate Agents across Los Angeles, Dallas, and the Bay Area. -Actor headshots -Model Comp Cards -Catalog Fashion - studio photography -Editorial projects for publications like Los Angeles Magazine, D Magazine, Modern Luxury, Nu Skin and more. -Food images for restaurants and part of the editorial projects listed above I feel I do a great job of making all my shoots special by thinking out of the box and coming very prepared for anything that could go wrong. I feel that my warm personality and vast experience in photography helps put my clients at ease.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I had the wonderful opportunity to host 2 photography exhibitions in Dallas Texas and Los Angeles. The first one was called 'Smoking Series by Gustavo, which was a collection of photographs of 'real people' smoking cigarettes in a multitude of gritty environments. The second was called 'Boxing Series by Gustavo' which was a collection of photographs of up and coming boxers from East Los Angeles in run down gyms and at real boxing matches. The Boxing Series won 2 awards and some of the images were featured in Los Angeles Magazine.
