I love everything about my job but the one thing that keeps me excited is problem-solving! I love figuring out difficult locations and lighting to achieve the best solutions for my subject, whether that be a person, a piece of jewelry or gourmet dish. Photography is ultimately about problem solving and I always enjoy the challenge.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I recently had a client who was a physician and wanted to build her brand as a resource in the health and fitness industry. I called my favorite make-up artist and he styled her hair and makeup in a natural way that helped to boost her confidence. My client had a condition that made her hands and feet have an orange tint, so I suggested that the makeup artist apply some makeup on her hands for the shoot. The physician was so appreciative that she did not need to feel self-conscious about her hands or feet during the photo shoot. My client, who was super fit and trim, also had a digestive disorder that made her stomach look bloated. I took great care to pose her carefully and make sure the lighting and her clothing was styled such that she did not have to worry about her stomach. In addition to several hours of pre-planning, we spent several hours together that day, shooting different “stories” for her business. I captured shots of her in her gourmet kitchen chopping her fresh vegetables and holding mugs of her favorite tea. We ended the day taking several shots of her doing yoga poses. She was extremely grateful for the extra time and energy I put into the project and I was very proud of the images we produced.

A fun fact about this photographer
I was student body president in high school (but that marked the end of my political career.) I also made it to State Finals in the Long Jump! As for now, I love yoga and anything to do with the beach.
