More about Isaiah M....
What do you love about your job?
My job is amazing. I have successfully turned my hobby into a fully functional career that I am able to pursue for the rest of my life. At first, I fell in love with all of the technical aspects of the camera and the art of the shutter, iso to aperture ratio, but that all changed after an emotional client experience. I had filmed one of my friends wedding day in college. It took me 2 weeks to complete the project, and upon delivery I wanted to give it to them personally. We sat down and pulled up the final video on the monitor and proceeded to watch. It was her mother, grandmother, the groom, his mother and I watched from the back while they hovered in front of the screen. By the time the video reached it’s 45 second mark, everyone (literally everyone) had tears rolling down their cheeks as if we were chopping onions preparing a meal. At the end of the video, they turned and gave me the biggest hug you could imagine while praising me with “thank-you's”. The emotion was real. They even left me a $300 tip… YES $300. After that moment, I truly understood the magnitude of power I held with the art of developing media. My love for photography amplified extremely as it was no longer about me, it became about my clients.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done many event and portrait shoots using special techniques to make them all special. For event photography, I aim to capture as many natural emotions as possible to make sure that anyone viewing the gallery feels as if they were at the event. Our portrait sessions are great experience as we talk and engage with the client to match their energy and create the most comfortable atmosphere for taking pictures.
