More about Jax O....

What do you love about your job?

I know it sounds cliche, but the satisfaction in capturing a ‘moment’ or producing a beautiful portrait, and the connection that I have with my subject in these moments is honestly one of the greatest drivers of what I do. I really enjoy the interaction with my clients and working collaboratively to create something a little special.

I also love that I get to travel a lot and work in an industry which celebrates technological advancement.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I always hope to make every shoot special for the client. When shooting weddings or portraits I always try to make the subjects feel as comfortable as possible and bring out the best in people. Ultimately this makes the shoot more fun and allows me to capture more something more pleasant and genuine.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

My conservation photography work has been published in media around the world. No formal awards received, but my mum’s pretty proud.

A fun fact about this photographer

When travelling I often gain nicknames from the locals in relation to my height. Lately I’ve earned the nickname ‘Mr. Tall’ in Tanzania. Oh and by the way, I’m over 2 meters tall.
