What do you love about your job?

Documenting memories. Whether it be a family gathering, friends celebrating a special day, an alluring sunset, securing lasting memories of a senior pet, or documenting young brothers and sisters at play. One of my favorite pictures of me is a candid of me with my grandfather when I was two years old. It is rather simple, I'm squatting on the sidewalk and he is standing beside me and we each appear as though there is no other place we would rather be. That image creates emotion for me each and every time I look at it and that is what I hope to accomplish for each of my clients, a positive lasting emotion.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

For family shoots I have a few questions that I like to ask each prospective client in order to get to know a little about them. Learning a little about the client personally allows me to get a sense of what they are looking for in a session. When you have a young couple with small children taking candids of their real life makes for great photos. After any posed shots that were requested I do my best to play and joke with the children for a few minutes to get them to loosen up and then the real fun begins.

A fun fact about this photographer

When I was starting Kindergarten my father offered me a proposal, if I could go all the way through elementary, middle, and high school without missing a day of school he would buy me a new car upon graduation. Growing up in a small town upon entering elementary school all that I wanted to do was go to school and meet new people and make new friends. After having made it all of the way through elementary school without missing a day at that point the proposal became a determination in my mind. I was going to do it because no one thought that I could do it. I did it! I went all of the way through school without missing a day and shortly after graduation I had my very own brand new Volkswagen Jetta!
