More about Jeorgi S....
What do you love about your job?
I am a creative. I have to have an outlet to express who I am to the world around me; photography is one of these outlets. I love the excitement I get when someone is standing in front of my camera and I get to show them the beauty I see in them. I love being able to creatively capture food when I am working with local restaurants because I get to add my flavor to their photographs and make them both tasteful and memorable. But more than anything, I love being able to let my photographs speak for themselves to the loud and busy world around me.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done so many different types of shoots and I always try to make each one special. As I said earlier, I feel most alive when I am photographing individuals or food. I thrive most in these smaller, one-on-one shoots because I tend to be this type of person in my friendships. I feel more intentional when I am working with individuals because I can learn new and fun things about them while I'm working with them, like their favorite type of music or their favorite holidays. This also applies to restaurants because I can talk to the people who work there and learn about their lives, their passion for what they do and why they chose to work at that restaurant. Intentionality is important to me and I try to make that evident during each of my shoots.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
My work was published in The Nashville Arts Magazine back in 2015.
I had my personal art gallery hung up in a local coffee shop and also at a Starbucks in my area.
A fun fact about this photographer
I really love repurposing furniture and building things with my hands! I am known to walk around antique stores for hours and come out with random, vintage items to turn into a new lamp for my house. I love finding beautiful character in old pieces and bringing them to life with a fresh coat of paint.
