More about Jessie G....

What do you love about your job?

There are lots of things I love about photography. I love how every shoot is completely different. I love it when brides message me to say they love the photos. I love it when someone changes their profile picture to a photo I took of them. I love coming up with a creative plan for a full brand shoot. I love meeting for coffee and coming up with ideas with clients. I love it when I can physically see someone getting more confident as a headshot session nears the end and I can see we have made a breakthrough! I love building up a team for a full fashion photoshoot, and everyone knows the plan and we have a collective vision and it's just beautiful. I love spending hours on a product stop motion animation that feels like it is taking forever but then I play it back and it's just so adorable and I know it'll get my clients lots of followers! I love creating set designs for each product I shoot and coming up with a plan. I love shooting genuinely adorable couples and knowing that they trust me to capture their special moments. I also love learning new things all the time, and I love perfecting my craft. Honestly it's a brilliant profession!

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Oh my goodness this is a big question. I'll just name a few from the last year or so:
Fashion shoot with Kaleidoscope by Amy Lou - a bag designer up in Newcastle who sells her work in John Lewis - we had a design meeting, Pinterest boards - shot at Hidden Heights Creative Studio - models were fantastic, we had an amazing time shooting.

I did a mini headshot day, a kind of taster session for artists to come along for a short shoot and get a couple of photos for a smaller fee - and I met all kinds of cool people; a burlesque dancer, a musician, someone training to be a doctor but wanting to try acting, a clown person, a comedian wanting awkward photos for her show, and a child actor that is in The Dumping Ground! Very cool day at work indeed.

I did a product shoot and stop motion animation shoot for local candle maker Hot Wax, for their croissant scented candle - we had French breakfast style set design, complete with gingham and a coffee machine.

I did a goth wedding at Halloween! That was spectacular indeed.

Lots of food photography shoots with local vegan cafes/ restaurants as well.

A wide variety, all special in their own way.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

I think I am on IMDB somewhere as an assistant director in a music video with Crew Gal?

A fun fact about this photographer

I used to have a vegan cafe with a friend in 2016, and Si King from the Hairy Bikers visited - and he liked our food! I honestly had my heart in my throat bringing him some falafel lentil thing we had made and he said the flavours were really rich and warm and honestly I will never forget that moment. Insane!
