Jon started his photography journey in the late 1990's in a high school dark room in Upstate NY. He was immediately transfixed by the creative process photography offers. While attending college in the early 2000's, Jon spent 2 years training with John Johnston, a protege of world famous photographer John Sexton. After college, Jon continued his pursuits and setup a room in his house as a dedicated dark room.

Much has changed in the world of photography since that time, however Jon's passion to create beautiful lasting memories for himself and his customers remains strong.

Jon views photography as challenge in capturing specific moments in time in the history of our lives. Something that can be framed with pride, and handed down through generations to come.

Just like a favorite song transfixes us to another place and time filled with nostalgia, Jon wants his customers to get goosebumps looking at the memories captured for them. Everyone has a story worth telling, and Jon's goal is to help you tell that story and preserve that special moment in time.

More about Jon F....

What do you love about your job?

I love capturing candid moments in time, split seconds to be exact. We all have a story to tell, and my goal is to take photographs that transcend time, and help tell that story for generations to come.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I've done many types of shoots, and I prefer live event photography over all else. My live event photography is special in it's own right. In order to be a great live event photographer, you must be exceptional at reading body language and social cues ahead of the special moment. Candid smiles last for split seconds, and a good photographer will be a couple seconds ahead and in position. My natural ability to read people and social settings has allowed me to capture moments other photographers would simply miss. The customer is paying for above average results, and that is what I intend to deliver.

A fun fact about this photographer

I have an uncanny ability to coach and inspire others to act on their dreams.

One quick example.

I have a friend who is a great fisherman and writer. After reading a couple of his blog posts I really felt he should pursue writing and document more of his fishing experiences. He wasn't too sure of it, but I wouldn't let it go. About 6 months later he called to thank me. He said my words of inspiration and confidence in his ability forced him to reach out to an old friend in the publishing business. While the friend was no longer in the business, he forwarded him onto an old colleague. The publishing company asked him to send over a few examples of his writing, and 72 hours later he had a signed book deal and check in hand. From the book deal, he just landed his first television show set to air in early 2019 on the Sportsman Channel. I'm very proud of him, and happy to see him living out his dream of being a professional fisherman.

For the record, the cover photo for his book along with many inside photo's came from a photographer friend of his ;)
