More about Jonathan M....
What do you love about your job?
I enjoy the process of figuring out the best angles or light to get a photograph I like. Sometimes it comes easy, and sometimes it is a puzzle to get a great shot. The great thing with digital photography is you can see your image right away and make changes and adapt on the fly, which makes creativity fun.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I did a photo project for the Animal Care League of Oak Park, Illinois, which is an organization that helps place cats and dogs with families for adoption. It was a great project getting to know the people and their pets. One of the adopted dogs was very old and ended up passing away. The owner was so happy we got some great shots of him with his dog. He loved "Clem" so much and it was nice to immortalize them both together. The images will go on even when we are long gone.

A fun fact about this photographer
I once was doing a shot hanging out of a helicopter at a photo shoot in New Zealand. We were flying sideways about 100 feet above the ocean towards our location. I didn't realize my shoe was untied and almost slipped off the runner as I stepped out. Luckily, I was in a harness so I was not worried about falling. I got back in, tied my shoe and we reset our approach. We got the shot!
