Jorge Ramirez is one of Puerto Rico's Leading commercial photographers. Since 1985 he has been working as a full time professional commercial photographer, regularly supplying imagery and undertaking commissions for a wide range of clients.
Since his formal training at the US Air Force Photography School in 1977, he has been teaching himself portrait, architecture, and commercial photography mainly from reading magazines and books, and then putting into practice techniques while on location either in the Rainforest or along the Puerto Rico coastline. This informal training enabled Jorge to develop a unique style that continues to make his photographs instantly in demand. 
Ever since Jorge first began taking photography seriously, his images have been in demand commercially. Since 1985 his images have been published regularly in national newspapers, magazines, and brochures. Over this time he has worked for many large and prestigious organizations, supplying imagery and undertaking commissions for companies including The Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Rums of PR and Kodak, to name a few.
Jorge favors the rich colors of dawn and dusk when natural light is at its most colorful. He uses his camera equipment to enable him to capture magical moments authentically at the picture taking stage, rather than relying on computer enhancements afterwards. Although he now shoots exclusively digitally, his beginnings in film photography engendered a strong desire to record the landscape at its natural best, and nothing more. As a result, Jorge's photography captures authentic and natural moments in time, free from computer manipulation.
Previously to working as a Professional landscape photographer, Jorge has had a varied and extensive career with roles such as a US ARMY Photojournalist and winning the Keith L. Ware Award, the Army's highest award for journalistic standards, and a Pulitzer's nomination on 1981 for a photo essay on the Cuban Refugees. 
Jorge ran a very successful photography studio in San Juan for 28 years, where he was very involved shooting major campaigns for the best advertising agencies and clients in the island, and stateside to include Miami, Pennsylvania, and New York.
