More about Joseph M....
What do you love about your job?
I love being able to take a still photo and have it be able to tell a story.
Whether it is an RV photo shot on the wharf in San Francisco saying to prospective customers, I am the unit you want and this is one of the places I can go with you to shooting Chuckwagon races at the Calgary Stampede where I get a horse looking like it is smiling while charging at 30MPH, while each one is totally different in its initial message the core message is the same.
I am able to tell your story with a shutter click and that story will live on forever. That is what is so great about being a professional photographer, for years after you have completed your assignment and provided the client with the exact pictures they are looking for you know that each and every time they look at that photo or use it for a print or online advertisement, that photo is going to tell a story and that story may be totally different from one person to another.
Another of the great aspects of being a professional photographer is the travel. I love being able to prepare for a shoot in New York just as much as being able to shoot in Zurich Switzerland or Cancun Mexico.
Being able to do a preview with Google earth or imagery search to find a special location prior to arriving at the shoot location to finding that extra special location you didn't know existed until you drove right up on it.
It gets your blood and your creative juices flowing with anticipation. Meeting new people and getting locations that they have been to also helps when you are in a foreign country.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
My photo shoots range from product selling photography for eBay sellers, RV manufacturer photography in both inside and on-scene shoots.
Action photography as well as sporting events, corporate functions and more.
Scenery photography shot in various locations all over the world. Day and night scenes that just draw you in with a story to tell.
My one big thing about photography and as a photographer is I do not like the photo to look staged. I want it to look natural. I want the subject even if it is an RV or a picture of my trike to look natural.
Natural in its environment and natural in its delivery to the viewer.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
Photography recognition by RV manufacturer for not only RV model photography but for other events as well.
A fun fact about this photographer
Due to my disability, sometimes I have to use walking canes for mobility.
I was entered into a scramble golf tournament with some of my friends and when I went to check in I went up to the registration table. The lovely lady working the registration was looking down when I told her my name.
As she found the registration information she asked me "What is my handicap?" as she looked up.
When she saw my arm canes she almost started to cry and was apologizing over and over.
I told her "It is totally ok, my handicap is playing golf."
To this day I remember the look on her face and every time I think about it, I get a really good laugh about it.
