More about Lisa G....

What do you love about your job?

Ive been an artist my whole life. I love creating art. I love showcasing what people want to showcase, but being able to do it in a original and unique way. Capturing the candid moments as well at the poised. Creating a moment or memory that will last forever. I love making woman feel beautiful. I enjoy meeting new people. I love outdoor shoots because i enjoy nature. Every day is a new creative adventure.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

What can make certain images more special is the preparation. Knowing the location ahead of time, how the background will enhance the image, how the light will be hitting the person, what colors should the person be wearing to match the background coloring. Also the colors a person chooses should be complimentary to there hair and skin tone. If it is a family shoot, monochrome colors look best.

Making the subject feel comfortable is so important. Talking to them, asking questions. Making them laugh, so you can catch the natural moments. There is a balance the photographer needs to find between poising the subjects but also letting them move about naturally. I really really listen to what the client wants, and do my best to fulfill that wish. Its important to really SEE the person. To see what you can bring out of them, there uniqueness, there beauty, ect...

When i do pet sessions, i brings treats and toys for the pet. Not only is it a nice gesture but it also helps me have more control of the animal.

For live performance shows, my 70-200 lens really helps. I can get such close intimate shots without the artist knowing how close i am to them. This allows them to be in a natural creative state, while i shoot them.

Knowing some tricks from photoshop and lightroom really helps as well. Removing blemishes, making the eyes pop, whitening the teeth, using the liquify tool. ect... I've used my OnOne software a few times to create special effects over the image
